Paralegal: a Paralegal Does Many Jobs

A paralegal can be called a law secretary or a legal assistant, but unlike the secretary, who types and does many administrative duties, the paralegal or legal assistant has the knowledge and training in the justice system.

A paralegals duties may be researching, document preparations, client interviews, preparation of law documents, preparing motions for the attorneys and even assisting in the courts with the attorney. As the lawyer has a very busy job preparing for cases, he or she works very closely with their paralegal as one, focusing on the success of the case. They are a team, united for the cause of justice.

Many paralegals find work in law offices, larger firms, government institutions, banking institutions and all varieties of corporate offices. Depending on the office also depends on the duties. If one was to work for a small office, their workload may be very heavy, as opposed to an office that may have additional assistants, as well as, legal secretaries.
